SS 5 Extreme Ceramic Coating

Offering 5+ years of protection, SS 5 creates an extremely durable, ultra-hydrophobic barrier that resists environmental contamination while making routine maintenance easier than ever. Its advanced formula provides outstanding resistance to harsh chemicals ranging from pH 2 to pH 14, including magnesium chloride, paint thinner, brake cleaner, paint reducer, and even ShowShine Water Spot Killer.

Unlike many professional ceramic coatings, SS 5 features an extended 5–7 minute working time, allowing you to coat larger sections before leveling. The coating spreads effortlessly, levels with ease, and does not require a temperature-controlled shop to achieve professional results, although climate-controlled conditions are always beneficial. Its low-VOC solvent system also produces significantly less odor than many competing coatings.

How to Use

Surface Preparation

1. Thoroughly wash, decontaminate, and dry the surface.
2. Polish the surface as needed to remove defects and maximize gloss.
3. Remove all polishing oils and residue using ShowShine Decon or a quality panel preparation spray.

Application

1. Apply 10–12 drops of SS 5 to a coating applicator.
2. Apply the coating evenly to one section at a time using a crosshatch pattern, followed by a circular motion to ensure complete coverage.
3. Allow the coating to dwell n longer than5–7 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
4. Level the coating using a clean, folded microfiber towel.
5. Immediately follow with a second clean microfiber towel to remove any remaining residue or high spots.
6. Continue panel by panel until the entire vehicle is coated, swapping microfiber cloth sections every application section. 

Aftercare

• Keep the coated surface dry for at least 24 hours after application.
• Do not contact wash the vehicle for 7 days to allow the coating to fully cure.
• Wash often using a ph neutral soap like ShowShine Power Soap.
• For maximum performance and appearance, perform an annual decontamination wash and apply ShowShine Spray On Ceramic afterward.
• Using ShowShine Spray On Ceramic after routine maintenance washes is highly recommended to enhance gloss, and extend the life of the coating well beyond the 5-year mark when properly maintained.
